Sanawara is a small village of 9491 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sanawara depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Sanawara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Sanawara's pin code is 345026[4], and village code is 02054000. The area of Sanawara is segregated as 1866 hectares unirrigated, the 7537 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 88 hectare area not available for cultivation.
