Samer Anis Mansour Mouasher (July 19, 1971) is a Jordanian businessman. He is a founder of several companies and non-profit organizations in areas of ecotourism, sustainability and green energy, hospitality and tourism, environmental mining, technology, cosmetics, entertainment, and real estate.

Personal Life

Samer Mouasher was born on July 19, 1971 in Amman, Jordan to Anis Al-Mouasher and Louly Hanania, the daughter of Anastas Hanania,a Palestinian-Jordanian lawyer, judge, and diplomat who held 20 ministerial positions. Samer’s father was a three-time minister in the Jordanian government and a co-founder of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN).

Samer Mouasher was raised in Jordan and schooled in the United States.

He comes from a reputable Jordanian family. Some of his most renowned family members include Rajai Muasher, Jordanian former Deputy Prime Minister, and Marwan al-Muasher, Jordan’s first ambassador to Israel. His uncle, Daoud Hanania, is a famous Jordanian heart surgeon, a former Lieutenant General in the Jordanian Armed Forces, and a former Senator in the Jordanian Parliament.[1]

In 2008, Samer married Eveline Claesson. The couple has three daughters and the family lives in Amman. He spends most of his time between LA, London, Shanghai, and Amman.

Education

In 1992, Samer Mouasher graduated from Northwestern University with Majors in Political Science, Photography and Economics.

Contribution to the Jordanian Film Industry

The Royal Film Commission

Samer Mouasher is the co-founder and a former Executive Commissioner of the Royal Film Commission[2]

Founded in 2003 and chaired by HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, the RFC aims to develop an internationally competitive Jordanian film industry.

One of the most significant projects run in conjunction with the Royal Jordanian Film Commission is the Rawi Screenwriters Lab. It invites filmmakers from the region to develop their works under the guidance of experienced creative advisors.

The Red Sea Institute for Cinematic Arts

Samer Mouasher is the founder and former Chairman of the Red Sea Institute for Cinematic Arts. Founded in 2008, that is the first MFA program in Cinematic Arts in the Middle East and North Africa.[3]

The Institute is based in Aqaba, Jordan and represents a joint effort[4] of the Royal Film Commission and the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.[5]
