Salisu Ogbo Usman (born October 26, 1972) is a Nigerian political scientist, administrator with a PhD in Political Economy and Development Studies and he is the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic[1][2], Lokoja in Kogi State, Nigeria.
Family and education
Born in October 26, 1972 in Angwa-ogede, Ankpa Local Government, Kogi state. He obtained West African School Certificate from Young Muslim Congress Secondary School (YMCSS), Ankpa, in 1995. He obtained a B.Sc political science, from Bayero University, Kano, in 1997. In 2006, he obtained an MSc. in Political Science from University of Ilorin and Phd in Political Economy and Development Studies Nassarwa State University, Keffi 2015.[3]
Academic Career
Salisu began his public service as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Ilorin and was in charge of the administration of the College of Heath Sciences, acting as the College Secretary for over a year.
He was later appointed as the youngest ever substantive Faculty Officer, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin.
Between 2004 and 2009, he had provided invaluable secretariat support (as Secretary) to over 22 Committees and Panels in the university.
In 2009, Salisu transferred his services from the University of Ilorin to Kogi State University, Anyigba, as Assistant Lecturer in 2009 and rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer in the Department Political of Science of the university.
