Said Ahmad, original name Saidahmad Khusankhujayev, was a famous Uzbek poet born in Samarkand Darvaza village of Tashkent city. His childhood was spent in the circle of writers like Elbek, Aybek, Gafur Gulyam. Curious and restless by nature, Ahmad tried himself in many fields before entering literature: he wrote posters, tried to become an artist, studied at a doctor's school, studied at a construction technical school, attended an art school, became an apprentice to the famous photographer Penson, wrote news for newspapers. After studying at the Nizami Pedagogical Institute for a while, in 1941 he worked in the "Mushtum" magazine. In 1942-1943, he worked in the republican radio. In the early 50s, he was imprisoned for several years as a nationalist. In 1999, Ahmad was awarded for his services to national independence. He was awarded the title of "People's Writer of Uzbekistan", the State Prize, and the "For Great Services" and "Friendship" orders.

Novels

Ahmad was known as a short story writer. His works are read with pleasure, and he was considered a poet of prose. The writer continued the Qahhor tradition of creating comic stories. His short stories on the rural theme "Qadrdon Dalalar" (1949), "Hukm" (1958), "Qirq besh kun", "Hijron kunlari" (1964), "[ The trilogy "Ufq" consisting of the novels [On the threshold of the horizon" (1969), the novel "Jimjitlik" (1988), which describes the human fate against the backdrop of the depression period, "Sherzod and Gulshad, which depicts the lives of children "(1945), "Kelinlar qo'zg′oloni" (1976), which spread to the seven corners of the world, "Kuyov" (1986), which depicts the mental anguish of a lonely old man, are proof of the writer's great creative skills.

Collection of Stories

Ahmad's first short story collection was published as "Tortiq" (1940).In the stories like "Er Yurak" (1942), "Farg′ona hikoyalari" (1948), " Cho′l Bo′risi" (1960), "Choʻl oqshomlari", "Odam va boʻron" he described the complex fate and spiritual experiences of his contemporaries . In his stories, Said Ahmad tried to learn from Oybek's skill of psychological imagery, Gafur Gulyam's humor, Abdulla Khahhar's laconic narrative, and their works served as a "textbook" for Said Ahmad's development as a writer. Currently, he is known as comedian, humorist. A large part of his work consists of humorous stories, comedies. A humorous direction is also important in his novels. His comedic skills were clearly demonstrated in the comedies "Kelinlar Qo′zg′oloni" (1976), "Kuyov" (1986). Farman Bibi, mixed with folk humor in "Kelinlar Qo′zg′oloni", had risen to the level of a unique image that embodies the mentality, identity, strengths and weaknesses of the nation.

The Ufq Trilogy

"Ufq" trilogy[1] (1964-1974) occupies a special place in the literary work. The novel "Ufq" includes the events of the decade of the life of the nation of the 20th century - the Second World War, the war and the post-war years. In the trilogy, the calamities that befell the nation in those years, the dreams of the people, the incomparable courage and courage to overcome these calamities are reflected with the passion and inspiration characteristic of the writer's talent. Deep, popular, bright national characters like Ikromjon, Jannat, Azizkhan, Dildor, Asrora were created in the work.

Death

Ahmad died on December 5, 2007 at the age of 87.[2]
