Sahiththiyan Sivapalan (born 4 May 1998) , known by his stage name Sahi Siva, is an independent British Sri Lankan Tamil independent artist, musician and composer from East London. [1] Sahi Siva commenced his musical journey by performing several hits of Tamil songs , by posting them onto several social media platforms, such as Instagram.[2] and YouTube [3]
He has produced several independent albums, from his life at university, until now and has released them on several platforms, such as Spotify [4], YouTube [3], YouTube Music [5], Apple Music [6] and Deezer [7] . He has also collaborated with several super singers, including Nithyashree Venkataraman[8] and Maanasi G Kannan[9], as well as collaborating with several guitarists, such as Keba Jeremiah [10] and Ashnaa Sasikaran[11].
Since the age of 15, Sahi Siva has been composing his own songs. He then got signed to Oru Nation Entertainment after performing in several university shows, such as Mega Maalai (hosted by Imperial College London Tamil Society)[12] and Kings of Gaana (hosted by King's College London Tamil Society)[13]. Sahi Siva also had a great opportunity to perform in front of music composer, Anirudh Ravichander, during an event organised by LSE Tamil Society. [14]
Early Life
From a very young age, Sahi Siva has started learning Carnatic music, which is a type of Indian classical music. Alongside with singing, Sahi has learnt mridangam, an Indian percussion instrument, since six years old. [1] For GCSEs and A-levels, Sahi Siva studied at Ilford County High School, where he had obtained 11 A*s with 3 As for GCSEs, 2As for AS Levels and 3A*s with 1A for A-levels. [15] At Ilford County High School, he also took part in many societies, such as football clubs, athletics and cross country clubs, swimming club. He also founded the engineering society at Ilford County High School. [15]
After his high school success, he read Mechanical engineering (MEng) at Imperial College London . He graduated from university with an upper second honours.[15] Sahi Siva has also appeared in BBC Sounds, as part of BBC Asian Network, with Pritt [16], Ashanti Omkar [17], with MC Sai [18], where is independent music has been played. He has also talked about how independent artists like himself have recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic in his exclusive interview with BBC Asian Network. [19] Also, Sid Sriram praised the independent artist and mentioned in an interview with BBC Asian Network that he has an interest to work with Sahi Siva because of his good voice. [20]
Musical Career and Discography
Sahi Siva has worked with rappers , such as MC Sai and Ratty Adhiththan [21] and OfRo (Rohith Abraham) to publish his independent albums as part of his career in Oru Nation Entertainment. [22] Also, Sahi Siva has worked with Meshach Jasan(known as MJ Melodies), a music composer from London, and has released songs, such as Pirakkekka Kettavan on Amazon Music.[23].

Sahi Siva has been performing worldwide, such as in Sri Lanka and Canada. He has also performed his several hit songs, such as Ammamma and Naan Kudikka Poren, in Santhosh Narayanan's concert in Jaffna, and in Yuvan Shankar Raja's pre acts in London and Canada, which has received over millions of views worldwide.[43]
