Lieutenant Saeb Sabry al-Safi al-Arkoub (1936-1959) was one of the coup pilots who participated in the Shawaf coup in 1959 against Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qassem[1][2]

Saeb Sabry al-Safi was born in 1936, after 14 July Revolution, many parties in iraq fighted each other, and that led to attempt coup d'état in March 1959 called mosul uprising ,al-Safi went to participate in that coup, his duty was to strike radio station in Baghdad. and after he came back to the airbase he figure that coup failed, so he tried to fled to syria but the fuel ran out, so he Landes his plane but there hé found some people, thought they would catch him so He committed suicide.[3]
