Muhammad Sabir Qureshi S. Qureshi s/o Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi (1939 - 1999) in Liaquatabad, Karachi, Pakistan. S. Qureshi got a lot of popularity due to writing Imran Series and Pramod Series (Secret Service) Captain Pramod Series, Imran Series and Jasoosi Dunya ‘The Detective World’ 'Fareedi Hameed Series', which was created by famous Urdu writer Ibn-e-Safi[1]. Qureshi was one of the best Imran Series writers.
S Qureshi wrote more than 200 Imran Series novels and also has many novels on Captain Pramod Series. Major Pramod Series created by famous writer H Iqbal (Humayun Iqbal).
S Qurehi was also a publisher and his organization continued to publish Imran Series of various authors such as Azhar Kaleem, Ibne Kaleem, H Iqbal etc [2][3][4]. Akram Allahabadi's novels continued to be published under Jasoosi Panja.
In 2009, Gulshan Naseem did his M.Phil at GC University Faisalabad under the title Urdu Adab Adab men Science Fiction k Teen Asaleeb ka Taqabli Mutala "Comparative Study of Three Styles of Science Fiction in Urdu Literature" in which he wrote that after Ibn-e-Safi, the best on his characters was written by Qureshi, although more than 200 writers wrote on Ibn-e-Safi's characters and they could not do justice to it, nor did anyone take permission from Ibn-e-Safi to write novels on his characters. However, after Ibn-e-Safi, S. Qureshi, H. Iqbal (Humayun Iqbal), MA Rahat, Hameed Iqbal, M. S. Qadri, Azhar Kaleem, Ibn Kaleem, Mushtaq Ahmed Qureshi, M. A. Pirzada, M. A. Sajid, N. Safi, Mazhar Kaleem MA, Safdar Shaheen, S. Kiran, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Mohi-ud-Din Nawab etc. tried to write good novels.
Approximately in 1963 to 1965, Qureshi started writing on Ibn-e-Safi's characters. Queshi's Imran Series was so popular that the cover of his novels was written like this: "S. Qureshi's Imran Series", some other Imran Series writers also used to do the same.
H. Iqbal (Humayun Iqbal) wrote many novels of both the famous and well-known series Jasoosi Duniya (Faridi Hameed Series) and Imran Series created by the famous writer Ibn-e-Safi, which became very popular, while S. Qureshi is said to have written only Imran Series novels which became very popular.
There were so many fake writers who wrote on Ibn-e-Safi's characters in his name that their number is not yet known. Similarly, some authors named S. Qureshi also came forward, such as S. R. Qureshi (Saleem Qureshi) etc. These names need more research.
