Rye Dilley (born September 14, 2012) is a student in Battle Ground Public Schools. Known primarily for their work as project lead and editor-in-chief of the Your Battle Ground Public Schools publication revival project,[1] they have expressed exemplary skill in design, photography, and writing—as well as youth advocacy and civics, speaking out in support of Battle Ground school levies,[2][3] working with Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance on the Prevention Convention: The Way to Wellness event,[4][5][6] and taking second place in the Southwest Washington Civics Bee competition.[7][8]
Advocacy
Dilley always loved to speak up in defense of topics they cared about, they made their first debut publicly speaking in favor of a Battle Ground Public Schools levy funding measure in April 2025.[2] Following this, they continued to write [9][3] and speak in support of what they care about—especially regarding their community. On April 30, 2025, Dilley took second place at the local National Civics Bee competition for Southwest Washington[7][8], speaking on an essay they wrote about the importance of school bond measures.
Notably, they also played an integral role in the invention of the Prevention Convention: The Way to Wellness event with Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance and the three DREAM Teams, focused on youth health and wellness[5]. This saw Dilley taking over most creative aspects of the event, designing brand elements, photographing the event, and writing press materials.[10]
Journalism
Spearheading the revival of the Your Battle Ground Public Schools newspaper,[11] Dilley collaborated with the Battle Ground Public Schools Communications Department to reinvent the old publication in the form of a high quality, student-built magazine—seeing them serve as editor-in-chief.
