Ryan McCambridge is a Canadian Grammy-nominated audio engineer, mixing engineer, artist, and sound designer. He is known for his work with Grammy-winning producer, David Bottrill, and on projects for Rush (band), IAMX, Metric (band) and Mastodon (band), among others.
A US Gold album|Gold Album was awarded to McCambridge for his work on Rush's R40 Live album and concert video, which reached number one on the Billboard charts#Top Rock Albums.[1][2]
McCambridge worked on Mastodon's 8th studio album Hushed and Grim, which reached number one on both the US Top Hard Rock Albums (Billboard) chart[3] and the UK Rock & Metal Singles and Albums Charts. The first single, "Pushing the Tides", has been nominated for a 2022 Grammy Award for Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.[4]
McCambridge is credited as the Dolby Atmos Mixer on Hushed and Grim as well as the remaster of the HBO show, Sex and the City, which won multiple Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards.[5][6]
He has also taught at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, and has written for multiple international publications including Sound on Sound|Sound On Sound, Professional Sound, Audio Media International and Canadian Musician.[7][8]
