Ross Haggart is a Scottish firefighter. He is currently as the Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.[1]

Career

He began his career joining Fife Fire and Rescue Service in 1994, later transferring to Tayside Fire and Rescue Service.[2] In 2020 He was appointed as Deputy Chief Officer of Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.[3] In January 2022, as deputy chief officer, Ross Haggart said in a statement that the cause of the Glasgow School of Art fire couldn't be definitively established.[4][5] In March 2022, Ross Haggart stepped into the role of Chief Officer during the suspensions of Chief Officer Martin Blunden.[6] Later In November 2022, he was made Interim Chief Officer after Chief Officer Martin Blunden resigned.[7]

On the 24th January 2023, he issued a statement regarding the fire at Jenners department store building.[8] On 18th August 2023, Ross Haggart presented a retirement award to Scotland's Longest Serving firefigher Watch Commander David Farries QFSM.[9]
