Burton has participated as a member of the cryptocurrency community to use his platform to promote and encourage investments in digital currency.[4] He has received acknowledgment for his commitment to educating a curious audience interested in changing their financial situation with cryptocurrency.[5]

Legal Issues

In January 2024, Burton was arrested and charged for his alleged role in a $1.89 billion cryptocurrency fraud scheme associated with HyperFund, also known as HyperTech, HyperCapital, HyperVerse, and HyperNation.[6] Authorities allege that HyperFund operated as a Ponzi scheme, falsely promising investors substantial returns from non-existent cryptocurrency mining operations.[7] Burton was charged with operating and conspiring to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business.[8] At the time of his arrest, Burton was preparing to board a one-way flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which contributed to the court's decision to deny bail, citing him as a flight risk.[9][10][11][12]
