Roberto Verde (born 1953, Antwerp, Belgium; real name Robert Verlinde)[1] is a Belgian painter and writer. Trained as an architect, he worked on social housing projects in Flanders before turning to painting later in life. He was a laureate in the architectural competition W.I.S.H. 84.[2]

His work explores links between traditional painting and artificial intelligence.[3]

In 2024 he was selected by The Hug, a New York–based curatorial platform, as “One of 100 Artists to Watch”.[4] This initiative was started by Randi Zuckerberg. Verde is also the author of the Flemish novel Ixion[5], inspired by the painting of the same name by Peter Paul Rubens.

Interviews with Verde have appeared in Kunstpoort[6] (3 May 2025) and in Awita New York Art Magazine[7] (11 June 2025).
