Roberto Sallouti (born February 26, 1972) is a Brazilian businessman, economist, and philanthropist.[1] He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Banco BTG Pactual and a member of its Board of Directors.[2] Sallouti has over 30 years of experience in investment banking and financial markets, and has held various leadership roles within BTG Pactual and other major financial institutions.

Early Life and Education

Sallouti was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with concentrations in Finance and Marketing, from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Career

Sallouti began his career at Banco Pactual in 1994 and became a partner in 1998. He initially worked in the Fixed Income Division before being appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2008. He was named CEO of Banco BTG Pactual in 2015.[3]

He has also served as the joint head of the Latin American Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) group at UBS AG.[4]

In 2008, Sallouti co-founded BTG Investments, which successfully reacquired Banco Pactual from UBS in 2009. Under his leadership, BTG Pactual has expanded its operations in investment banking, asset management, and wealth management throughout Latin America. He has also spearheaded the firm's digital initiatives to enhance its retail market presence.[5]

Sallouti serves as the Chief Executive Officer of BTG Pactual Asset Management S and as Co-Chief Executive Officer of BTG Pactual WM Gestão de Recursos Ltda. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Banco BTG Pactual S.A. (Investment Management) and holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Director at BTG Pactual Holding S.A. All of these roles are part of the subsidiaries of Banco BTG Pactual S.A.[6]

Sallouti also serves on the boards of several organizations, including MercadoLibre, Banco Pan, and Febraban.[7]

Sallouti is the founding president of Instituto V5 and has been involved in initiatives aimed at improving governance in cultural institutions, such as the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP).[8]
