Early Life and Education

Roberto J. Argüello[2] was born and raised in Managua, Nicaragua. He attended The Governor's Academy for his postgraduate preparatory school degree. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1976 and later completed his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business in 1979.

In 2003, Argüello founded CEO Advisors[3], a management consulting and advisory firm based in Miami, FL, specializing in the Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. markets. He serves as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Consultant, providing C-suite support to Fortune 500 multinationals, global corporations, and privately held businesses. Viday Éxito

Argüello serves as the Chairman of the Board and Publisher of Vida y Éxito Magazine[4]. Under his leadership, Vida y Éxito became the region's number one business and lifestyle publication, with a monthly circulation of over 55,000 and a global web reach. Argüello positioned the magazine as an advertising and public relations outlet for Fortune 500-caliber firms, providing access to C-level decision-makers, government officials, and public-private agency leaders.

Political Advocacy

In addition to his business ventures, Arguello has been actively involved in political advocacy. He was one of the leading figures for Nicaraguan exiles in the United States during the 1980s, advocating for the situation of thousands of Nicaraguans[5].He has been particularly involved in lobbying efforts in the United States concerning the Nicaraguan Investment Conditionality Act (NICA Act)[6]. The NICA Act is a piece of U.S. legislation that proposes economic sanctions on Nicaragua due to concerns over human rights abuses and corruption. Northern Trust

Arguello began his professional career at Northern Trust, a global financial institution. He served the company for 18 years, starting in 1979, in various roles, including Vice President of Hispanic Affairs and CRA Officer for Florida.

He worked on the Northern Trust Interamerican Bank merger with Security Trust, creating a new national bank in the Florida market. Argüello then directed the market growth strategy and expansion of services as Vice President of Northern Trust Bank of Florida in Miami. He also served as Florida's Vice President of CRA Investment and Hispanic Market Officer.

Grupo LAFISE

In 1997, Arguello joined Grupo LAFISE, a Central American full-service banking and financial services institution. As the Executive Vice President, he worked on designing and executing the next-stage growth strategy for the company’s Nicaraguan and Costa Rican subsidiaries. As a finance expert, he represented the company on major news media outlets across the US and Latin America.

Satuple

Earlier in his career, Argüello served as the President and CEO of Satuple, Inc., a provider of Latin American closed-circuit sports, news, and entertainment broadcasts to Hispanic-focused sports bars across the US. He led the company through negotiations of distribution agreements with prominent US Hispanic networks and facilitated its corporate sale to a private equity investor group.

Over the years, Argüello has received numerous honors and awards for his contributions to the banking industry and his leadership in business. These include:

Argüello has written four books, which have been bestsellers in Latin America. He wrote 'La Vida Secreta de Los Sandinistas' (1996), 'Creadores de Riqueza,' 'Miniaturas, Soldaditos y Notre Dame' (2022), y 'Una Historia de Éxito, Como La Revista Vida y Éxito Pasó a Ser Líder en el Mundo Hispanoparlante' (2023).
