Rob Shaw (born 1981) is a Canadian television reporter and political journalist.

He works for CHEK News as its political correspondent.[1][2][3]

Shaw co-authored (with journalist Richard Zussman)[4] the 2018 book A Matter of Confidence,[5][6] a behind-the-scenes look at the rise and fall of Christy Clark's BC Liberals, the return to power of the BC NDP, and what it means for British Columbia's political climate going forward.

He is heard weekly on CBC Radio as the political correspondent for the programs All Points West[7][8] and Radio West.[9] He hosts a weekly B.C. political panel, Political Capital,[10][11][12] which airs Sunday nights on CHEK TV and as an audio podcast version on all major platforms.[13]

Additionally, Shaw writes weekly political columns for Glacier Media publications[14]and the Northern Beat News.[15]

He is a three-time Jack Webster Award for Excellence in Journalism winner and seven-time nominee in categories of Excellence in Legal Journalism, Best Breaking News Reporting, Excellence in Business/Industry/Economics Journalism[16] and Commentator of the Year.[17][18] In 2008 he was nominated for a prestigious National Newspaper Award for reporting on policing issues.[19]

He is a former political reporter for the Vancouver Sun (2014–2021) and Victoria Times Colonist (2005–2014)
