Ritesh Dogra (born 10 June 1992) is an Indian Powerlifter player, hailing from the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. He has won medals at various tournaments such as the local and nation powerlifting championships and Commonwealth Games[1]. Under the guidance of Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan[2], in the year 2023, he became the first Indian to be listed number one in the world ranking[3][4] in powerlifting under 90kg body weight division.

Achievements

Ritesh started his career under the guidance and support of Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan at the age of 21 by participating in local championships. This allowed him to gain valuable experience while improving his abilities. After this, he played participated in various state, national and international level powerlifting championships and got many medals.

In 2022, he won four gold medals in the open British powerlifting[5] competition in Derby, England. Coach Bhupender Dhawan, fellow medallists, and Ritesh dedicated their medals to the Khelo India'[6] program, an initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The list of his achievements was glorified in the year 2023 when he made his country proud by getting 3 gold medals back home along with the title of ‘Best lifter[2][7][1][8]’. He made history by being the first Indian to hold the top spot in the world ranking in powerlifting[3][4] under 90 kg body weight class.
