Rip Van Winkle (7 April 1963 - 23 September 2001) was a South African multi-medial artist. His artworks explored the delicate forms of mankind and fauna. Each of his artworks were deeply personal and he, like many artists, used his work as a form of self-expression. He took great interest in the intricacies of human anatomy by both deconstructing the forms into simplified shapes and reconstructing them into more complex figures.
