Rina Gaeva (born 16 March 1978 in Moscow, Russia) is a performing arts director and theatrical producer, theatremaker with a strong focus on the development of professional theatre for a very young audience, organizer of international cultural festivals, theatre researcher, publisher, and educator.

Life

Gaeva graduated in Theatre Mangement in Moscow Art Theatre School named after Vl. Nemirovich-Danchenko.

In 2011-2014 Gaeva alongside theater critic Elena Kovalskaya and theatre director Viktor Ryzhakov created and developed the Theatre Leaders School. It was an educational project for advanced training created at the Moscow Meyerhold Centre with the participation of the Moscow Art Theatre School.[1]

In 2014 Gaeva created Baby Lab, an all-Russian program aimed at developing professional theatre for early years and fostering productions for very young audience (for children from 6 months to 4 years) in state repertory theatres. Baby Lab is a ASSITEJ member and the only Russian entity registered as a networking organization.

During five years of active operation, Baby Lab produced over 30 theatrical performances for a very young audience and organized two Baby-weekend Festivals, the International Festival of Theatres for Early Years (TEY) "Kukusya". In the spring of 2015, Baby Lab created a special off-program for the National Theater Festival "Golden Mask."[2][3]
