Richard Batt (born May 27th, 1985) is a British writer, comedian.[1], professional wrestler[2], YouTuber[3] and musician[4]. He has gained attention for his accomplishments despite having dyspraxia, which he discussed in an interview with the Teesside Gazette in 2016[5].

Career

Professional Wrestling

Batt performed as an independent professional wrestler in the UK between 2001 and 2006 under the name "The International Pop Sensation" Jayson Mayson. He also occasionally appeared on wrestling shows in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014[6] and 2016. One of his catchphrases was "putting the pop in Papua New Guinea" and he was an early local star in 3CW [7]. He achieved this despite having dyspraxia, a developmental disorder that affects coordination and movement. He won the 3CW Lord of the Ring in 2004[8] and featured on multiple shows around the country[9]. Batt also appeared on Sky One's Toughest Seaside Resorts in 2004[10].

Stand-Up Comedy

Batt was also a local stand-up comedian, who ran a stand-up comedy event called "All Jokes Aside"[11].

Writing

Richard has contributed to a variety of websites as a writer, including the Huffington Post[12] and as a columnist for Teesside Live[13]. He has also written on the topics of AI, SEO, and technology on his own website[14].
