Ricardo "Demente" Abreu (born April 27, 1984) is a Brazilian former mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. He gained wider recognition after competing on the reality television series The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 and later fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).[1]

Before transitioning to mixed martial arts, Abreu competed in Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments as a black belt competitor. He trained under Rodrigo Cavaca and built his career competing in major events in Brazil and internationally.[1] Abreu was part of the generation of Brazilian heavyweights active in the late 2000s and early 2010s, competing in both gi and no-gi formats.[2]

His second UFC appearance took place on June 6, 2015 at UFC Fight Night: Boetsch vs. Henderson, where he faced Jake Collier and lost by split decision.[4]

Abreu was later scheduled to face Dan Kelly at UFC 193, but withdrew from the bout due to injury.[5]
