Dr Riaz Qureshi (born, late 1940s), FRCGP, is a Pakistani doctor and retired professor of family medicine.[1] who has significantly contributed to the nascent development of family medicine (the GP equivalent of UK) practices in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia[2], India and Bangladesh. His contributions were recognised by the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2008 when they awarded him with the inaugural President's International Medal [3]. Dr Qureshi moved to the UK in 1966 to pursue his GP training after completing his MBBS from Pakistan's Dow University of Health Sciences. His career spans more than 50 years of GP practice in England following his training, thereafter he moved to Saudi Arabia before returning to Pakistan in 1994 where he joined Agha Khan University Hospital and founded their family medicine practice[4][5].[6]
