Renagul Gheni

Renaghul Gheni (رەناگۈل غېنى in Uyghur, 热纳古丽·艾尼 in Mandarin Chinese) is a Uyghur art teacher at a primary school, 39, arbitrarily detained as one of the million Uyghurs by China, where they have been subjected to torture, indoctrination and forced labor according to the U.S. State Department.[1] Her sister Kalbinur testified that Renagul was taken to the so called "reeducation camp" in 2018,and transferred toto Changji No.2 Women`s prison on May last year, RFA report.[2][3]

Kalbinur told former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on December 3, 2020 about her wrongly imprisoned sister for praying at their father`s funeral and keep resinous books at her house and loaned to others. Renagul was sentenced 17 years in prison for keeping religious books in her possession and observing religious rites after the death of her father. The Chinese government harassed Renagul's family after she met Mr. Pompeo.[4][5][6]
