REANIMAL is an upcoming horror adventure game developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game is being developed by the studio known for Little Nightmares and Little Nightmares II, aiming to appeal to the same audience.[1]

Development

On March 22, 2023, Tarsier Studios shared a teaser screenshot of the game on their Twitter account.[2]

On August 2, 2024, a new teaser[3] was unveiled on the PlayStation YouTube channel.

The game was officially announced during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 20, 2024.[4]

Gameplay

REANIMAL is set in a 2.5D world. It features both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing for local or online play with a shared, directed camera. In single-player mode, another character will be controlled by AI.[5]

Story

Like in the early works of Tarsier Studios, the game uses a visual and minimalistic narrative approach, although it will also feature a small amount of voice acting.

The story tells a brother and sister as they try to escape the island that was once their home while attempting to save their three friends.[5]
