A Spanish professional football club headquartered in Madrid, Real Madrid Club de Ftbol (commonly known as Real Madrid) is a member of the UEFA Champions League.

Madrid Football Team was founded on March 6, 1902, and has worn a white home shirt ever since. The club was originally known as Real Madrid Football Club. The honorary term real, which translates as "royal," was given on the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920, along with the inclusion of a royal crown in the club's logo. Since 1947, the club has played its home games in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which has a capacity of 81,044 spectators in the heart of Madrid. Real Madrid's members (socios) have owned and managed the club throughout its history, in contrast to the majority of European athletic organisations.

A valuation of €3.8 billion ($4.2 billion) was placed on the club for the year 2019, and it was the second highest-earning football club in the world, with an annual income of €757.3 million in 2019. The club has one of the most passionate followings of any team in the world. Among the original members of La Liga who have never been relegated from the top flight is Real Madrid, who, together with Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona, are the only teams to have done so since the league's creation in 1929. With numerous long-standing rivalries, the club's most notable competitions are the El Clásico with Barcelona and El Derbi Madrileo with Atlético Madrid.

With 66 trophies to its name in Spanish football, the club has set a new record by winning 34 La Liga championships, 19 Copa del Rey wins, 11 Supercopa de Espaa titles, a Copa Eva Duarte trophy, and a Copa de la Liga. On the European and global stage, Real Madrid has won a total of 26 trophies, including a record 13 European Cup/UEFA Champions League wins, two UEFA Cups, and four UEFA Super Cups. Real Madrid is the most successful club in the country. They have won a total of seven club world championships in international football, which is a record.
