Ravil Zakarievich Khalikov (Russian: Равиль Закарьевич Халиков, born 23 February 1969) is a Russian prosecutor and economist. He was the former Prosecutor General and Deputy Prime Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic.[1]
Political career
Khalikov was appointed as the Prosecutor General for the Donetsk People’s Republic in May of 2014. In September of the same year, he was appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister. On 28 July 2017, he resigned as Deputy Prime Minister. His resignation was accepted by Alexander Zakharchenko, the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic.[2] Khalikov has been sanctioned by the European Union, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Ukraine for his role in the Russo-Ukrainian war.[3]
Awards
Khalikov was awarded with the title of Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic on 11 October 2017. He has received the Order of Courage, the medal “For the Return of Crimea” and the medal “For the Defense of Crimea” by the Russian Ministry of Defense. He has also won several other medals and awards during the Second Chechen war and the conflict in Donetsk.[4][5]
