Ravi Menon (Malayalam: രവി മേനോൻ) is an Indian journalist, author, and music researcher for more than 30 years[1]. He currently works as a Senior Content Specialist at the Mathrubhumi group and is best known for his music researches and music related studies. Well known for his simple, and elegant writing style[1]
Early life and education
Ravi Menon hails from Edarikode, Malappuram[2] district, Kerala. His father was T. K. Madhavan Nair and his mother was K. P. Narayanikkutty Amma. He studied at Chundel R. C. High School in Wayanad and Devagiri College, Kozhikode. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Journalism from University of Calicut, graduating with first rank.
Career in media
Newspaper
After completing his postgraduate degree in journalism with first rank from the University of Calicut, Menon began his career at Kerala Kaumudi in 1984. In 1991[3], he joined The Indian Express as Senior Sports Reporter, covering major national and international sporting events. He later worked with Varthamanam and again with Kerala Kaumudi before moving to radio in 2007.
Radio
From 2007 to 2022, Ravi Menon served as Head of Music Research at Club FM, the radio division of the Mathrubhumi Group.

Current role
Ravi Menon is currently Senior Content Specialist at the Mathrubhumi Group. He also writes a weekly column titled Kaathoram[1] for Mathrubhumi Online.
