Ratshar Kalan is a small village of 532.9 hectares in Ballia Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Ratshar Kalan depends on gadwar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell and One handpump. They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of gadwar and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
