Rata Pani is a small village of 388 hectares in Dungarpur Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Rata Pani depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 10.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Rata Pani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Rata Pani's pin code is 314001[4], and village code is 03306800. The area of Rata Pani is segregated as 16 hectares irrigated area, 176 hectares unirrigated, the 16 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 180 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
