Its capabilities cover mechanical manufacturing, PCB electronics manufacturing, AI Creator solutions, and new product introduction (NPI) services.

History
RapidDirect began its manufacturing journey in 2009 with the establishment of its first self-owned factory in Shenzhen, initially operating as a traditional manufacturing facility. In 2019, RapidDirect transitioned toward digital services by introducing its proprietary online quoting platform to streamline customer orders. Digital manufacturing platform
The digital platform offered by RapidDirect is intended for the automation of certain aspects of the manufacturing procurement process, and customers are able to upload their CAD files and state the materials they want to use, the quantities needed and their finishing requirements before getting a quotation.[4]
In 2019 the company introduced its instant-quote platform;[5] according to 3D Printing Industry the system was intended to offer automated quotations for a number of prototyping processes and to cut down the time needed to prepare manufacturing quotations; at first it offered services such as 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication and injection molding.[6]
The quotation system looks at the CAD data that has been uploaded and produces details about manufacturing options, materials, finishes, prices and lead times; meanwhile, the platform enables users to manage quotations and keep an eye on orders via one interface.
RapidDirect later added automated DFM analysis to its platform. The DFM system looks at various aspects of a CAD design which may influence manufacturability, such as wall thickness, holes, internal corners and other geometric features.

RapidDirect uses its own manufacturing facilities together with a network of manufacturing suppliers in China; the company says that this manufacturing network involves a range of production technologies and allows it to meet various production volumes and part requirements.
