Ramapati Singhania (birthdate – 08 May 1956) is an Indian industrialist[1] . He was the director of multiple companies under, JK Group.[2] [3] [4]. He belongs to one of the old Indian business houses, Singhania family[5][6]. Presently he is the Managing Director of Varal Consulting, DMMC.[7]

Biography

He was born in Kanpur, UP, India in a Marwari industrialist family to Gopal Krishna Singhania and Sulochana Devi.[8] He is a grandson of Sir Padampat Singhania.[9][10]

He is an alumnus of Darden School of Business, University of Virginia and Carnegie Mellon University, USA.[11][12]

After the death of his father in 1980, he joined Singhania family's JK Group of companies in 1980. He was the head of PGR Group[13] and was the full time Director of JK Synthetics Ltd, Director of JK Bombay Ltd, JayKay Tech Ltd, Keventor Agro Ltd and JK Jute Mills Ltd.[2][3] He was the president of National Institute of Quality & Reliability, India.[14] As the head, he took a keen interest in conceptualizing Quality Circle Forum of India.[15]

He wrote the book Productivity Transformation, an account of his journey immensely rewarding but perilous journey with JK Synthetics.[16]
