Raisa Ghazi(workplace inclusion activist and global public speaker)

Biography

Raisa Ghazi (Amsterdam, 11th of April 1989) is a Dutch Muslim workplace inclusion advocate and global public speaker. She was born and raised in Amsterdam and Aalsmeer, where she was one of the very few children with a migrant background. This is where she developed an interest in the division of power and, more specifically, how minority groups can develop themselves in societies with a lot of exclusion. From a very young age, she wanted to dedicate her life to establishing more inclusion in society [1].

She has obtained an MSc. in Intl. Business from Nyenrode Business University and an MSc. in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam. Her research on the relationship between ODA and the quality of institutions reached the media in 2015[2] [3]. and she has been an internationally requested speaker on development, equality and politics topics since then [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10].

Career

Raisa Ghazi started her career working in commercial roles but quickly realized she wanted to turn her extracurricular activities of empowering minorities in societies into her day job. With SkillGenie [11], she attempted to spread the word about the need for more workplace inclusion [12], with a large focus on technology [13][14] [15].

After receiving requests from organizations worldwide to personally provide keynotes, she decided to give in and overcome her shyness [16] by getting on stage herself[17] [18] [19].

She has worked with the Dutch government to empower underaged minor asylum seekers and refugees in digital skills[20]. And she started the High Tech Tea to empower women in finance [21] [22] and technology with the help of several Dutch officials [23] [24]. With her association Dat Ding van Ons [25], she put Caribbean professionals who are active in industries where they are a minority in the spotlight. She supports an array of foundations and nonprofit organizations who all aim to make society more inclusive [26] [27].

Accolades

She is now a global award-winning [28] [29] [30] [31]public speaker on Inclusive and Women's Leadership.

Forbes [32] has acknowledged her as a leader in her field of promoting women in top positions. She’s also a guest lecturer at Nyenrode Business University [33], and a columnist [34] on Women’s Inclusion for the Dutch Social & Economic Board.
