Raffi Kortoshian (1979, Aleppo) is an architectural engineer, Armenologist, and co-director of the Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) Foundation. His work is focused on documenting and protecting endangered Armenian historical monuments, especially those outside the Republic of Armenia.
Since March 2020, Kortoshian has served as the co-director for administrative and publications at the RAA Foundation[1]. He also has been a researcher with the organization since 2006.
Kortoshian is a vocal advocate for the preservation of Armenian heritage. He has publicly addressed the destruction of Armenian monuments in territories outside the present-day Republic of Armenia and has spoken about the documentation of vandalism and cultural devastation[2][3][4][5].
Kortoshian is also listed as a fellow at the Armenian Society of Fellows[6].

- 2021 (Armenian)[18] and 2022 (Persian)[19] - The Collection of Tehran’s Armenian National Ethnographical Museum after Archbishop Artak Manukian
- 2022 - The Endangered Christian Armenian heritage of Artsakh[23][24]. In 2023 the book Nominated for The 2023 Ronald Inglehart Best Book Award on Political Culture and Values, by World Values Survey global research project[25].
Awards
- 2021 – letter of thanks from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia for supporting the preservation and protection of the historical and cultural heritage of the occupied territories of the Artsakh Republic.[36]
- April 2025 – Medal of Honour by The Armenian Prelacy of the UAE and Qatar for his great contribution to the protection and promotion of endangered Armenian monuments outside the Republic of Armenia[37].
- 7 May 2025 – Note of Acknowledgement from the Board of Directors of the RAA-USA for His exceptional cooperation, unwavering dedication, and exemplary work exceeding the highest standardsa[38]
