Raffaele Capuano (born September 24, 1996) is an Italian model and rapper who goes by the stage name South RC. He was scouted at age 17 by Italian fashion designer Francesco Scognamglio and is currently managed by Sight Management Studio,[1] Elite Milan,[2] and Elite Paris. Capuano is also recognized for his career in the music industry, some of his well-known songs are Business, Camera 301,[3] and Fresh Zone.[4]
Capuano is best known for his appearances in the global campaigns launched by Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, GQ, Victoria’s Secret, and Vogue. He is considered as one of the highly recognized models[5] in Italy and the European fashion industry and has also been featured in several online media outlets such as Harper's Bazaar,[6] Glamour Magazine,[7] Flaunt Magazine,[8][9] Mud Magazine,[10] Rival Magazine,[11] Naluda Magazine,[12] and others.
Early life and education
Capuano was born in the Italian city of Naples. He grew up with two siblings, an elder brother from his mother's first marriage and a younger sister from the same parents. At the age of 13, he enrolled in a military school and utilised music to make him feel less alone. Capuano enjoyed a number of sports as a kid, including football, tennis, and swimming, but eventually inclined towards music gaining inspiration from his mother. She also encouraged him to leave his native Italy at the age of 17 to seek new experiences.
Career
Capuano began his career at the age of seventeen. Francesco Scognamglio spotted him on the streets of Italy, and he quickly secured his first modeling contract with D'management Group. He walked his debut runway show for Dsquared the following year. While under D’management, he appeared in campaigns for Armani and Dolce & Gabbana, DSquared, Armani Exchange and was featured in GQ and Vogue.
He chose to move to Milan and pursue a full-time modeling career after the success of his first show. He subsequently joined Elite Model Management, where he starred in ad campaigns for Victoria's Secret and modeled for Elisabetta Franchi,[13] a well-known Italian fashion designer.
Raffaele Capuano grew up listening to Lil Wayne and Drake's songs. Their music helps him get through difficult times. He was also inspired to develop his own sound as a result of his love.
After attaining substantial success as a model, Capuano decided to pursue his passion - music. He has recorded several hip-hop songs under the name South RC. His song Camera 301,[14] released in 2021, gained mass popularity. It presents a trajectory of his unique experiences of both as a musician and model, and how he balanced the business aspects of both professions. “Fresh Zone” is yet another one of his hit songs that reflect the distinctive UK beat with rap lyrics about police abuse.

Personal life
Apart from modeling and rapping, Capuano is outspoken about legal injustices and often volunteers to help the less fortunate. He is also an avid travel enthusiast and plans on moving to Los Angeles, California by the end of 2021.
