Raghavan Pratap Shravan (R.P. Shravan) is an Indian musician, Carnatic vocalist and Playback Singer who shot to fame with Star Vijay Airtel Super Singer Junior (season 2).[1] and Indian Idol (Hindi TV series) Season 9 .[2]

He started his career in music at the age of 13 and became a household name through his successful stint on Super Singer. Since then Shravan has been touring across Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore , Dubai, Kuwait, Sri Lanka and other countries for concerts. He has had the blessed honour of performing in front of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi on the occasion of Ugadi festival celebrations 2023 held at the Delhi residence of Former Vice President of India Shri. Venkaiah Naidu. [3]. He debuted as a playback singer through the Kannada film Mythri (2015 film) starring Karnataka Ratna Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar, in the music of Padma Vibhushan "Isaignani" Ilaiyaraaja sir.

Biography
Shravan was born into a Tamil family in Chennai to Raghavan Pratap & Sudha. He started his initial training in Carnatic music under Smt. Padma Chandilyan and is now undergoing advanced training under Vidwan Shri. Delhi P. Sunder Rajan. He has been performing Carnatic concerts at many Sabhas in Chennai [4] and won awards including the Best Vocalist Award from the Madras Music Academy in the Spirit of Youth Series and Yuva Kala Bharathi from Bharat Kalachar. He has been a recipient of the esteemed CCRT Scholarship (Centre for Cultural Resources and Training) for musicians from the age of 10 and the Scholarship for Young Artists, both instituted by the Ministry of Culture (India), Government of India. He annually pays his homage to Saint Thyagaraja at the Tiruvaiyaru Tyagaraja Aradhana.
Education
Shravan is an alumnus of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan PSBB, Nungambakkam. He emerged as the School Topper in Class XII CBSE Central Board of Secondary Education Examinations securing 482/500 (96.4%). He has graduated with a B.Com degree from Loyola College, Chennai.
Super Singer and subsequent fame
In the year 2009, Shravan auditioned for Super Singer Junior 2 and was shortlisted among several thousand contestants. Through his talent and hard work, he proved his versatility in many genres, singing challenging songs. He emerged as the 1st Runner Up, bagging a stylish Ford Figo car. He won notable titles such as the “Star of the Series” in Super Singer T20 and “Most Outstanding performer” in “Kedi Boys, Killed Girls” a Star Vijay reality show.
Some of his memorable performances on Super Singer spanning over a decade include :-
Om Sivohum , Uyirum Neeye, Paatum Naane , Nilave Ennidum [5] , Strawberry Kanne, Thanga Thamarai, Uruguthey, Minsara Poove, Oru Naal podhuma, Pothi vecha, Thazhayam Poo Mudichu [6] , Thedum Kanpaarvai, Isaiyil Thodangudhamma, and Thoda Thoda Malarndhadhenna. He has performed in front of legendary musicians like A.R. Rahman sir , P. Susheela Amma, S. Janaki Amma, K.S. Chitra Amma and received appreciation from the them for his singing. Shravan has had the honour of performing with Padma Vibhushan Shri. S. P. Balasubrahmanyam at Toronto Markham Fair grounds, Kamarajar Arangam and Bharat Kalachar. From 2020, Shravan has also been mentoring and training Super Singer contestants.
Indian Idol Season 9
With an aim to nurture his talent further, he participated in the famous Hindi reality show - Indian Idol (Hindi TV series) in 2017 and reached the Top 7. He received appreciation and standing ovations from judges Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik for his flawless rendition of challenging Bollywood songs like Ketki Gulab Juhi[7] , Main Radha Tu Shaam [8] , Laaga Chunari [9] ,Tere Naina [10] and Naina Thag Lenge [11]. Shravan also performed the iconic song “Ketki Gulab Juhi” a Hindustani classical music Bandish Raag Basant Bahar at the residence of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj and received his blessings and appreciation. [12]. It was a rare honour and a blessing to have also met Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar and performed in front of him at the Indian Idol celebrations party. [13]
Shantha Paati Samayal

Music and Food are two most passionate things that drive Shravan in pursuit of happiness in life. His grandmother Shantha Raghavan has been a great cook, perfecting several authentic & unique South Indian recipes handed over through generations. With a view to document, preserve and propagate her recipes world wide, Shravan founded the YouTube Channel - "Shantha Paati Samayal" [14] in 2019 showcasing a perfect blend of recipes and ragas, with an attempt to offer an audio visual experience to the audience. The channel has had an overwhelming reach and response from the audience.[15] It also won the coveted YouTube Creator Awards, the "Silver Button" for crossing 1 lakh subscribers.
The grandma-grandson duo also helped needy people during the Covid-19 pandemic by cooking food for patients and serving them.
