The Queensland Institution of Technology, sometimes known as QUT, is a public research university that can be found in Brisbane, which is situated in the state of Queensland in Australia. Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove are the two neighbourhoods in which the QUT campuses may be found in the greater Brisbane region. In January of 1989, the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) became what is now known as the Queensland University of Technology as a result of the passage of the Queensland University of Technology Act in 1988. This event led to the establishment of the university in its current iteration, which occurred in 1989. The Brisbane College of Advanced Education amalgamated with the Queensland University of Technology in the year 1990.

In the year 2020, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has an enrollment of 52,672 students (comprising 39,156 undergraduate students, 10,390 postgraduate students, and 661 non-award students), employs 5,049 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members, has a total revenue of $1.054 billion, and has a total expenditure of $1.028 billion.

The Queensland University of Technology was a participant in the Australian Technology Network of institutions; however, on September 28, 2018, they discontinued their membership.
