Queens Institution (QC) is a public college in New York City's Queens borough. It is affiliated with the City University of New York. The majority of its 80-acre campus is situated in Flushing, Queens. It has a student population that represents over 170 nations.

Queens College was founded in 1937 and provides undergraduate degrees in more than 70 fields, graduate studies in more than 100 degree programmes and certifications, more than 40 expedited master's choices, 20 doctorate degrees via the CUNY Graduate Center, and many advanced certificate programmes. Alumni and teachers of the institution, including as Arturo O'Farrill and Jerry Seinfeld, have been nominated for more than 100 Grammy Awards.

Seven schools make up the college: the Aaron Copland School of Music, the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, the School of Arts & Humanities, the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Math and Natural Sciences, and the School of Social Sciences. Queens College participates in Division II of the NCAA and supports 15 championship-eligible men's and women's varsity teams.

Before Queens College was founded in 1937, the property was occupied by the Jamaica Academy, a one-room schoolhouse constructed in the early 19th century where Walt Whitman once taught. The location of the structure was on Flushing-Jamaica Road. In 1844, Jamaica Academy opened to the public. On the grounds surrounding the future location of Queens College, the New York Parental School, a home for troublesome boys, opened in 1909 and included Jamaica Academy into its campus. Such structures like the Thomas Jefferson-named Jefferson Hall served as both dorms and classrooms.

Queens College is a liberal arts institution that provides undergraduate degrees in 78 fields, more than 100 master's degrees, more than 40 accelerated master's choices, 20 doctorate degrees via the CUNY Graduate Center, and a variety of advanced certificate programmes. In addition, it is one of seven schools participating in the CUNY Macaulay Honors College. Queens College offers a Freshman Honors Curriculum and a TIME 2000 programme for aspiring math instructors. The Professional & Continuing Studies department of the institution provides non-credit courses in subjects such as health care, real estate, and risk management.
