Purohitsar is a small village of 1867 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Purohitsar depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Purohitsar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Purohitsar's pin code is 345021[4], and village code is 02052300. The area of Purohitsar is segregated as 608 hectares unirrigated, the 434 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 825 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Purohitsar is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 721 and has total administration over 105 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
