Purara is a small village of 1142 hectares in Sumerpur Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Purara depends on Sumerpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Purara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Purara's pin code is 306902[4], and village code is 02473400. The area of Purara is segregated as 437 hectares irrigated area, 13 hectares unirrigated, the 420.14 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 272 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sumerpur and Pali to sell shoes and make their living.
