Punawta is a small village of 293 hectares in Rashmi Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Punawta depends on Chittaurgarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 8.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Punawta is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Punawta's pin code is 312203[4], and village code is 03530500. The area of Punawta is segregated as 18 hectares irrigated area, 125 hectares unirrigated, the 86 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 64 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Chittaurgarh and Chittorgarh to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
