A presentation is a method through which a speaker shares their knowledge with an audience. Presentations are often some combination of a demonstration, introduction, lecture, or speech designed to do one or more of the following: educate, influence, inspire, motivate, foster goodwill, or introduce a new concept or product. Preparation, organisation, event planning, writing, the use of visual aids, coping with tension, and addressing questions are all common requirements for successful presentations. Presentations are common in higher-level professional contexts, such as when accountants report on the company's finances or when entrepreneurs seek funding by pitching potential backers on their business ideas. The phrase may also refer to a ceremonial or formal presentation, such as the debut of a young woman. Keynote speech may also refer to a certain kind of presentation. More and more commonly seen are interactive presentations that encourage participation from the audience. This establishes a two-way conversation between the presenter and the listeners, as opposed to a monologue. One of the benefits of an interactive presentation is that it fosters a feeling of camaraderie among the audience members.
