Prasant Samadhar is a Singer, Performer, Composer, Mentor and Guide, has teaching experience in Vocal Music of more than 20 years in Bollywood.
Early Life
Prasant Samadhar was born in Bardhaman District of West Bengal, in a family with a background in Music. Learnt music with the Legends and Maestos like Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Chinmay Lahiri, Pandit Mohan Lal Mishra[1] and Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.[2]
He received a National Scholarship.[3] in Indian Classical Music from the Central Govt. of India and later became a student at the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy,[4] Kolkata, West Bengal. At a very young age of 14, he performed at Mughal Gardens[5][6] Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, on the invitation from then President of India Shri. R. Venkataraman and Prime Minister Shri. Rajiv Gandhi.[5][6]
It was his training under Guru-Shishya Parampara,[6] he learnt the finesse of Vocal Music. While he was still a scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy,[4] he got a rare chance to play instruments in the professional concerts of K. G. Ginde , Babanrao Haldankar, Sunanda Patnaik, Girija Devi, M. R. Gautam, Zakir Hussain etc. He also gave vocal support with Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi for approximately 18 years.[7][3]

He is a playback Singer, Performer, Composer,Mentor and Guide. He has also been mentor, judge in Indian Reality Shows like Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul.[3][12]
