Potlan is a small village of 2635 hectares in Sahara Tehsil in Bhilwara district, also known as the Textile City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Potlan depends on Gangapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 44.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Potlan is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Potlan's pin code is 311806[4], and village code is 02868200. The area of Potlan is segregated as 120 hectares irrigated area, 1216 hectares unirrigated, the 854 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 445 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Potlan is a census village in the district of Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 7204 and has total administration over 1447 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

The workforce is 1979 male, 1646 female with 1864 (51.42%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1119 males and 745 females. 343 males and 350 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 153 male and 183 female agricultural labor. 1761 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Gangapur and Bhilwara to sell earthen pot and make their living.
