Popawas is a small village of 1316 hectares in Jodhpur Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Popawas depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Popawas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Popawas's pin code is 342024[4], and village code is 01963000. The area of Popawas is segregated as 48 hectares irrigated area, 1145 hectares unirrigated, the 1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 122 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
