Poorannagar is a small village of 192 hectares in Kotputli Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Poorannagar depends on Kotputli, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 18.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Poorannagar is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Poorannagar's pin code is 303105[4], and village code is 01448700. The area of Poorannagar is segregated as 42 hectares irrigated area, 100 hectares unirrigated, the 12 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 38.45 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kotputli and Jaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
