Pirna is a small village of 990 hectares in Bardez Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pirna depends on COLVALE, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pirna is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Pirna's pin code is 403513[5], and village code is 00003100. The area of Pirna is segregated as 8.13 hectares irrigated area, 590.1 hectares unirrigated, the 127.23 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 264.65 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pirna has One post office (Pirna B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Pirna has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with One recreational center.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics

Pirna is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 2568 and has total administration over 632 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of COLVALE and North Goa to sell woodenfurniture and make their living.
