Pipoltr is an Australian metalcore band formed in Wollongong, New South Wales, in 2021[1]. The band consists of vocalist Rhys Evans, guitarist Joshua Sozio, drummer Tom O'Connor and bassist Xavier Farias. They have independently released two singles and a music video.

History

Pipoltr was formed in 2021 by Rhys Evans, Joshua Sozio, Tom O'Connor and Alex Thackray in their early to mid teenage years who all attended Wollongong High School together. The original lineup included Evans on bass and vocals as well as Thackray on guitar and vocals. The four had previously played alongside together in groups such as Numbered Authority and Killing Jane. Evans and Sozio had played in a short lived Alternative Metal band called Malliss which included bassist Xavier Farias, who would later join Pipoltr.

Pipoltr experienced several lineup changes with Evans, Sozio and O'Connor all remaining from the band's original lineup. The band played their first show in 2021 as a three piece and have since been playing shows regularly[2] around the Illawarra[3], Sydney and Canberra[4]. After the addition of bassist Xavier Farias in January 2023, the group has went on to independently release two singles and is currently planning to release a full length studio album.
