PINEO & LOEB are a Canadian electronic music act and DJ duo based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Composed of members Mitchell Pineo and JR Loeb, PINEO & LOEB are recognized on the international dance scene for their blending of contemporary electronic dance music with ,rock, disco, funk and classic,hip hop. They are known for crossing genre boundaries, collaborating with artists such as Glass Tiger, Ashley MacIsaac and Skratch Bastid.

History

Pineo and Loeb met in 2012 while attending Dalhousie University in Halifax. The two bonded over their mutual appreciation for retro and contemporary electronic dance music EDM. The two began as solo performers but when booked for an event with only one time-slot available they decided to perform together and combine their respective artist names.[1] [2] The duo topped the HypeMachine charts multiple times with remixes for artists such as The Knocks and Walk The Moon.[3] Their music has been heard on CBC Radio, Virgin Radio & BBC Radio.[4] [5] While on their first international tour PINEO & LOEB were involved in the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. The duo described the experience as “life changing”.[6] PINEO & LOEB have shared the stage with artists such as Zeds Dead, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Sleepy Tom and Alex Metric.[7] Their music has been featured in the Netflix original series Insatiable Insatiable. Other notable placements include Fox’s Star and TNT’s Claws.[8] In 2020 PINEO & LOEB produced an official remix for Olivia O’Brien's single “Now”, released on Island Records.[9]
