Pierre Le Manh is an American and French business executive. Since 2022 he has been the President and CEO of the Project Management Institute[1]. He was previously the Global Deputy CEO, and CEO North America of the market research and opinion polling multinational Ipsos.
Early life and education
The first born of a family of three children, Pierre Le Manh was born in Brunoy, France. His father is a construction engineer who had immigrated to France from Vietnam and his mother a French physicist engineer. He attended Collège Sainte-Barbe in Paris and Lycée Lakanal in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine. He was admitted to ESSEC Business School Grande école program and graduated in 1988. He speaks fluently English, French and Italian.
Career
After graduating from ESSEC Business School, Pierre Le Manh completed his military service in Montreal for the economic intelligence department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (France). Back in Paris, he worked for the management consulting firm Accenture, then became CFO of the performers copyrights company Adami. In 1998, he became the Chief Executive Officer of Encyclopædia Universalis. In 2000 he joined the database marketing company Consodata[2] to run successively the operations in France, UK, based in London, and Italy, based in Rome. He was appointed Global Chief Executive Officer in 2002[3] by the main shareholder, Telecom Italia, and led the sale of Consodata together with Seat Pagine Gialle to BC Partners[4].
He left Consodata in 2004 after its acquisition by Acxiom and joined the market research giant Ipsos[5], initially as CEO for Europe. In 2010 he was appointed Global Deputy CEO and a member of the Board of Directors[6]. In 2013, following the acquisition of Synovate, he relocated to New York City to run the combined North American business[7][8]. In that role he was a regular commentator on the US presidential[9] and of New York City mayoral elections[10] on TV networks. He left Ipsos in 2021 and became the President and Chief Executive Officer of PMI (Project Management Institute) in 2022[11][12].
Personal life
Pierre Le Manh has been in a relationship with his partner, Alexandrine de Montera, since the mid 2000s. He has two sons from a previous marriage.
