Pierfrancesco “Peter” Sartogo (born 4 July 1970) is an Italian financier and fund manager. A former equities banker at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank, he has led the alternative-investment house originally known as **GWM Group**—rebranded **Miria Group** after its 2023 acquisition by the Italian pension fund Enasarco—and sits on the board of Milan-based subscription-tech start-up **Subbyx**.

Early life and family

Sartogo was born in Rome on 4 July 1970.[1] He is the son of architect **Piero Sartogo**.[2]

Career

1994–2004: Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank

After university, Sartogo spent nearly a decade in the Institutional Equity Division of **Morgan Stanley**, dividing his time between New York and London, before moving to **Deutsche Bank** in 2000 as a managing director in Global Equities.

2005–2014: Joining GWM Group

In July 2005 he left Deutsche Bank to join **Global Wealth Management (GWM)**, a Geneva-founded multi-family office.[3] He became a managing partner and helped expand the business to London, Milan and Rome.

2015: Management buy-out

On 28 May 2015 founder **Sigieri Diaz della Vittoria Pallavicini** and other shareholders sold an 80 % stake in **GWM Holding SA** to Sartogo, making him controlling shareholder and chief executive.[4][5] GWM was refocused on institutional alternative investments—real-estate private debt, distressed credit and merger-arbitrage strategies.

2023–present: Miria Group

In November 2023 the Italian pension fund **Fondazione Enasarco** signed an agreement to acquire GWM Holding for a reported €50 million.[6] The platform was re-branded **Miria Group SA** in early 2024, with Sartogo remaining managing partner and chief investment officer.

2025: Investment in Subbyx

In June 2025 Sartogo joined the board of directors of **Subbyx**, a Milan start-up that lets consumers subscribe to tech devices instead of buying them.[7] Subbyx had earlier closed a €15 million seed round led by Azimut Digitech Fund.[8]

Other activities

Sartogo competes on the **FIS Masters** alpine-skiing circuit; the International Ski Federation lists his residence as *Milano, Italy*.[1]

Personal life

On 30 September 2006 he married design entrepreneur **Martina Mondadori** at the Duomo di San Marco in Pordenone.[9] They have three children: **Leonardo** (b. 2008), **Tancredi** (b. 2010) and **Cosima** (b. 2016).[10] In a 2024 interview Mondadori referred to him as her “ex-husband,” confirming their separation.[11]
