Phaim Bhuiyan (born 31 May 1995) is an Italian actor, producer, director, and filmmaker.

Early Life

He was born in Rome, a second-generation boy originally from Bangladesh, grew up in the Torpignattara district[1]. He attended IPS Virginia Woolf where he studied advertising graphics but discovered his true passion for filmmaking[2]. After high school, he gets a scholarship at the Istituto Europeo di Design[3] and begin to study there.

Carrer

He is known as author, director, screenwriter and star of the film Bangla, produced by Fandango which was released in theaters on May 2019. Later a series called Bangla - La Serie was also produced for RaiPlay[4], of which this film is considered as a sequel. The film was awarded the Golden Globe Awards[5]as best first work and with the Nastro d'argento for the best comedy of the 2019[6]. The same year he participated in the episodes of the program Viva RaiPlay! hosted by Rosario Fiorello.[7]

On 8 May 2020 he won the David di Donatello award as best new upcoming director.[8]In May he directs the videoclip of the singer-songwriter Avincola[9].

In 2021 he was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe ranking.[10][11]

On April 13, 2022, Bangla - La serie is released on RaiPlay, consisting of 8 episodes, a sequel to its 2019 film Bangla (film)[4].
